* The top-seeded Langley Saxons (18-3) blanked the No. 3 seed McLean Highlanders, 8-0, in a semifinal game of the Liberty District tournament on Saturday. Langley was scheduled to play top seed W.T. Woodson in the championship game on Monday night after the Sun Gazette had gone to press. Langley entered that showdown with a nine-game winning streak. Jimmy Saris pitched a three-hitter against McLean and struck out 10. Langley had 13 hits. Tommy Tysse, Danny Brown and Kyle Fraser had two hits and two runs batted in each to lead Langley.
