Langley High School senior right-hander Jay Sborz, who was drafted early in the second round by the Detroit Tigers on June 3, was named co-Most Valuable Player in the recent All-American high school baseball all-star game in New Jersey. Sborz pitched two innings, in which he allowed one hit and struck out five batters to help his East team to an 8-5 win over the West. Sborz also played briefly in right field. The game consisted of many of the top players in the United States. As of last week, Sborz had not signed a contract with the Tigers.
